Put your sweet tooth to rest

The aim of the master's degree in Dentistry is to prepare you for the independent practice of a dental practitioner of the highest professional level in accordance with all legal regulations and contemporary deontological standards.

The programme leads you towards key knowledge and skills that are – in general terms – understanding of the functioning of the human body and its parts in health and illness, understanding the biological, physical, and chemical principles on which diagnosis, effective treatment, and disease prevention are based, with a focus on the orofacial area. Long story told short, mouth and teeth.

On-campus simulation hospital

That’s right! You will learn practical skills and gain your first experience in SIMU, a unique one-of-a-kind simulation centre with state-of-the-art equipment akin to real dental and healthcare technology, such as dozens of models to transform your theoretical knowledge into hard skills before approaching real patients.

Practical training

An integral part of the programme is the obligatory professional practice starting during your fourth semester. Before your final state exams towards the end of your studies, you will undergo an intensive seven-week internship in all fields of dentistry, with the focus on conservative and paediatric dentistry, periodontics, prosthetic dentistry, orthodontics, and oral and maxillofacial surgery.

To be accepted for a long-cycle master’s degree in Dentistry at Masaryk University’s Faculty of Medicine, you need to provide the admission office with a certificate of your finished secondary education and pass the entrance exam consisting of three separate tests: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics and Mathematics.
