This programme equips you with interdisciplinary knowledge of both economics and healthcare, with a focus on practical skills for analysts and industry leaders.

Become proficient in health policy and data analysis, and learn not only how to formulate recommendations for important decisions but also understand the economic aspects of healthcare, including funding and regulations.

Graduate profile

Wondering what you’ll do with your diploma besides putting it on the shelf? Don’t worry! With this programme, you’ll be prepared to tackle key issues in healthcare, such as efficient processes and organization, reimbursement for providers and patients, staffing challenges, and more. You could become a manager, data analyst, consultant, or even a consultant to the Minister of Health—it's your choice!

Concerned about lacking specialization? No need to worry. You’ll have opportunities to choose your areas of focus during your studies. Explore the expert areas available to you:

  • Healthcare data analysis: pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies, academic and government institutions, international institutions, consultancies, hospitals, insurance companies.
  • Policy and management in healthcare: government institutions, international institutions, biotechnology companies, hospitals, Ph.D. research.
  • Health technology assessment: HTA agencies, international institutions, market entry departments of pharmaceutical and other companies, Ph.D. research.

Hands on Experience

Practical training is a must-have for any study programme. During your internship, be prepared to work with partners for a minimum of 6 weeks, with at least 3 of those weeks spent at the employer’s site. And if you’re considering pursuing a Ph.D. in the future, you can also choose to do your internship in scientific research.

And what’s next?

Student of this programme will have the opportunity to take courses from any faculty of Masaryk University or connect the studies with another study programme at our university.

The study programme is designed as a follow-up master’s degree programme ending with an “Ing.” degree. If you are interested, you can apply for doctoral studies in areas such as health economics, public health and health-services research in the Czech Republic and at top universities abroad.
